What does IP4X protection mean?

The listed switchgear cabinets use an IP4X enclosure protection level. This is intended for indoor protection against access to hazardous parts and solid foreign objects. It should not be interpreted as a waterproof outdoor rating.

When the breaker-compartment door is open, the published protection level is IP2X for the relevant compartment. For humid, dusty, coastal, high-altitude or outdoor locations, please confirm the required environmental design before ordering.
