Recently, Zhejiang Juhonkia Intelligent Electric Co., Ltd. has seen its self‑developed Model ZFW□‑145/T3150‑40 three‑phase SF₆ gas‑insulated metal‑enclosed switchgear (145 kV GIS) successfully pass the full‑series stringent type tests by TÜV Rheinland Germany. The company has officially obtained the complete type test report with No. CN263LJS 001 and the certificate of conformity under registration No. AK 50730963 0001.
This milestone signifies that the performance of the company’s 145 kV high‑voltage GIS products fully complies with the latest international IEC standards, granting authoritative market access credentials for global high‑end power grid and overseas projects.

Passed rigorous full-scale international authoritative tests with solid technical strength
The entire type‑test campaign was witnessed and supervised by TÜV Rheinland (Shanghai). Full‑dimensional tests were performed at two CNAS‑accredited national‑level laboratories: Liaoning High‑Voltage Apparatus Quality Test Center (AQTC) and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology Engineering Technology Laboratory. The test period ran from January 19, 2026 to June 26, 2022. Covering six major categories including high‑voltage insulation, breaking & current‑carrying performance, mechanical endurance, environmental resistance, internal arc and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), more than one thousand verification items were completed. All 1192 sets of complete test documents passed review.
The product is strictly developed in compliance with the latest international standards including IEC 62271‑203:2022, IEC 62271‑100:2021+A1 and IEC 62271‑102:2018+A1. All core rated parameters have been fully validated:
Rated voltage: 145 kV
Rated continuous current: 3150 A
Rated short‑circuit breaking / short‑time withstand current: 40 kA
Peak withstand current: 100 kA
Short‑circuit duration: 4 s
The circuit breaker meets endurance classes M2, C2 and extended E1. The disconnector is rated M2; the earthing switch is M1/E0 and the fast earthing switch M1/E1.
Power‑frequency withstand voltage: 275 kV
Lightning impulse withstand voltage: 650 kV
Gap lightning impulse withstand voltage: 750 kV
Partial discharge: ≤ 3 pC
It withstands wide operating temperatures ranging from ‑50 ℃ to +55 ℃, with protection degree IP55W, enclosure impact resistance IK10 and seismic class AG5 (0.5 g).
It has passed extreme‑condition tests including 40 kA/0.3 s internal arc Class‑2 protection, high‑low temperature, salt spray, seismic simulation, capacitive / inductive current switching, out‑of‑phase switching and short‑line fault.
Tests simulated various complex power‑grid and extreme‑climate operating conditions worldwide. Test prototypes No.2025120001 and No.2025120002 showed no breakdown or damage. Recorded waveforms, temperature‑rise values and mechanical operation data all outperformed standard limits. TÜV Rheinland issued the official Certificate of Conformity, confirming full compliance and validity of all rated characteristics of the prototypes.

Modular In‑house R&D for High‑reliability Lightweight GIS Solutions
The certified ZFW□‑145/T3150‑40 GIS is fully designed and developed in‑house by Juhonkia. It adopts a modular arrangement with three independent gas compartments. The circuit breaker, disconnector and busbar compartments are individually sealed, with hierarchically optimized SF₆ filling pressures. The circuit‑breaker compartment has a rated absolute pressure of 0.7 MPa and a minimum operating pressure of 0.6 MPa; other compartments are set at 0.6 MPa / 0.55 MPa. The annual leakage rate is below 0.05 %, enabling eco‑friendly operation and low‑maintenance service.
The equipment supports both porcelain and composite high‑voltage bushings, suitable for outdoor substations, new‑energy step‑up stations, urban underground utility tunnels and overseas T&D projects. Fitted with a spring operating mechanism, the circuit breaker achieves a minimum opening time of only 25 ms and complies with the standard automatic reclosing sequence O‑0.3s‑CO‑180s‑CO, well‑suited for intermittent grid conditions of wind and photovoltaic power.
Core components are sourced from premium local suppliers. Circuit‑breaker mechanisms, three‑position disconnectors, fast earthing switches and control cabinets are self‑developed and manufactured internally. Bushings and key auxiliary parts are supplied by top domestic manufacturers. This brings stable quality and shorter lead‑times, supporting one‑stop complete switchgear solutions for 145 kV transmission‑transformation projects worldwide.
TÜV Rheinland Endorsement Expands Global High-end Market Access
As one of the world’s most authoritative third-party certification bodies, TÜV Rheinland’s high-voltage type test certificates are widely recognized in power grid projects across the EU, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and most global regions. They serve as essential qualification credentials for international bidding and end-user market admission.
The simultaneous acquisition of the full complete type test report and certificate of conformity — unlike partial single-item test reports — verifies that Juhonkia’s 145kV GIS has passed the most rigorous comprehensive international assessment in overall design, manufacturing and performance. The achievement fully breaks down technical and certification barriers in the high-end global GIS market.
In recent years, Juhonkia has focused on the R&D and manufacturing of medium and high-voltage switchgears, strictly aligning with IEC and European and American grid standards, and building a full product portfolio covering 72.5kV to 252kV GIS and HGIS solutions. The TÜV Rheinland AK certification for the 145kV GIS marks a key milestone in the company’s internationalization strategy. It greatly enhances competitiveness in overseas new energy and cross-border power transmission projects, laying a solid certified-quality foundation for global market expansion.
Continuous Innovation Empowers New Power System Development
Moving forward, Juhonkia will take this authoritative certification as a new starting point. The company will further invest in high-voltage switchgear R&D, continuously upgrading GIS technologies oriented toward low-carbon environmental protection, miniaturization and intelligence, while developing higher-voltage and fluorine-free eco-friendly switchgear products.
Supported by standardized international certification systems and strict quality control, Juhonkia will deliver highly reliable and cost-effective high-voltage complete equipment for traditional power grids, wind-solar-storage new energy projects and global infrastructure markets, empowering high-quality development of the new global power system with solid Chinese manufacturing strength.
