Juhonkia Joins Hands with Hubei University to Co-establish Zhejiang Research Institute

On June 12, Zhejiang Juhonkia Intelligent Electric Co., Ltd. signed the Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Establishing Zhejiang Research Institute of Hubei University with Hubei University.

Liu Jianping, President of Hubei University, together with relevant officials from the University’s Discipline Construction & Development Planning Office and the School of New Energy and Electrical Engineering, visited Juhonkia for an inspection and forum. This marks that the industry-university-research cooperation between the two sides has entered a brand-new stage of in-depth implementation.

This university-enterprise cooperation is built on a solid foundation with a well-defined strategic layout. As a key comprehensive university under Hubei Provincial Government, Hubei University boasts strong disciplinary strengths, abundant talent resources and robust research capabilities in electrical engineering, new energy, smart grids and novel power systems.

Zhejiang Juhonkia Intelligent Electric Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise and a national-level "Little Giant" specialized, sophisticated, unique and innovative enterprise. It specializes in the R&D, production and manufacturing of intelligent electrical and power transmission & distribution equipment, with long-term dedication to the smart grid and energy equipment industries.

The two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement back in March 2025, under which Juhonkia provides research funding to jointly build innovation platforms, laying a solid groundwork for the establishment of the research institute this time.

During the visit, the delegation from Hubei University toured Juhonkia’s production workshops and corporate exhibition hall on site. They conducted research on the company’s core products including high and low voltage switchgears and eco-friendly electrical equipment, and learned about the enterprise’s R&D, production and intelligent development progress.

At the forum, Wang Xingwang, Chairman of our company, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Wang Yuanbin, Deputy General Manager, gave an overview of the company’s overall operations covering production & operation, technological innovation, talent cultivation and international development. The delegation spoke highly of the company’s green intelligent manufacturing philosophy and its achievements in intelligent transformation.

Supported by national strategies for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and the development of new power systems, the two parties have clarified the core development orientation of the research institute, focusing on collaborative innovation in smart grids, future energy and new power systems.

The cooperation will consistently abide by the principles of "complementary strengths, resource sharing, mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, long-term stable partnership". Centering on key tasks such as tackling critical technologies, commercializing scientific research achievements, building internship and practical training bases, and targeted talent cultivation, both sides will fully integrate their respective resource advantages and reach a consensus on comprehensive cooperation.

Liu Jianping, President of Hubei University, stated that the official launch of Zhejiang Research Institute of Hubei University marks a major milestone in the upgraded university-enterprise cooperation between the two sides.

Going forward, centering on the research institute as the core platform, the university and the enterprise will integrate the university’s strengths in research and talent resources with the company’s industrial practical advantages, and continuously carry out joint R&D of technologies, professional talent cultivation and industrialization of scientific research achievements.

Juhonkia will further deepen the integration of industry, university and research, focus on innovative breakthroughs in the energy and power sector, empower high-quality development of the enterprise and the power equipment industry through technological innovation, and set a benchmark for win-win university-enterprise cooperation.
