Recently, the Laos Mengsong 600MW Mountain Wind Power Project – Asia's first cross-border new energy transmission project and undertaken by Power China Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited (HUADONG ENGINEERING) as the general contractor – has made key progress. The 500kV step-up substation and two 115kV step-up substations have successfully realized back-to-back power transmission, laying a solid foundation for the grid-connection and power generation of the first batch of units.
In this milestone project, Zhejiang Juhonkia Intelligent Electric Co., Ltd., relying on its solid technical strength and product reliability, has provided 40.5kV gas-insulated ring main units (RMUs) with a total value of nearly 20 million yuan for the project, becoming one of the core forces in the construction of this international green energy project.

The Mengsong Mountain Wind Power Project in Laos is a landmark project under the Belt and Road Initiative jointly built by China and Laos, and also one of the largest-scale wind power projects in Southeast Asia. After its completion, the project will not only provide clean energy for Laos, but also transmit green electricity to Vietnam through cross-border power transmission channels, which is of great significance for the regional energy structure transformation and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.

As the Laos Mengsong Project enters the final sprint phase for grid connection, the ring main units provided by Juhonkia have been fully put into operation, laying a solid foundation for the large-scale grid connection of wind turbines in the subsequent stage.
