MV (Medium Voltage) switchgear is a crucial electrical assembly of circuit breakers, switches, and fuses in metal enclosures, used to protect, control, and distribute power in systems from 1kV to 75kV for large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and industries. Key types include Air-Insulated (AIS) for cost-effectiveness and Gas-Insulated (GIS) for compactness, while modern designs incorporate digital controls, vacuum breakers, and solid insulation (SSIS) for enhanced safety, reliability, and smaller footprints, meeting standards like IEEE and IEC.

Types of MV Switchgear
